Dave Watts of The Motet   WattsAnandA is an afro-house EDM project led by Dave Watts, the founder and dynamic drummer of The Motet. Known for his deep roots in Colorado’s vibrant music scene since the early 1990s, Watts brings a fresh take on electronic music with this innovative project. WattsAnandA features a lively three-piece horn section and intricate percussion, weaving afrobeat-inspired melodies and rhythms into a rich, syncopated tapestry of house, disco, and funk. The sound draws heavily from an era of The Motet defined by the acclaimed albums Dig Deep and Instrumental Dissent—both celebrated for their afrobeat electronica influences and crafted under Watts’ direction as writer and producer. This project marks Dave Watts’ first foray into featuring his own compositions in an EDM setting, showcasing his unique ability to blend an organic instrumental horn section with cutting-edge electronic grooves, creating a fresh, infectious sound that honors tradition while pushing boundaries.
