An accomplished banjo player, guitarist, singer and songwriter, Portland, Oregon native Billy Failing is constantly exploring new and different musical ideas. From an early age, Billy was naturally drawn to music and discovering new and interesting sounds. From early childhood violin lessons to high school Ghanaian drumming sessions to loud, high-energy indie rock with his high school band, Electric Lunch, his early days as a musician were characterized by exploration and the search for a unique musical voice.

Billy Failing is a Colorado-based banjo player, guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is best known for his longtime contribution as banjo player with grammy award-winning guitarist, Billy Strings, as well as for his original voice, banjo playing and songwriting as the frontman of his own project, the Billy Failing Band. With an intriguing focus on both tradition and innovation, he pays homage to the roots of bluegrass and acoustic music, while exploring its boundaries and devising a unique modern interpretation of classic sounds.
